Concrete Blocks and Aggregate Blocks

Lightweight Blocks
Aircrete blocks, also often known as aerated concrete blocks, from Tarmac Building Products combine the reliabilty and strength of concrete blocks with the added advantages of using lightweight blocks on site - faster, safer and easier to use.
Hemelite Lightweight Blocks
Hemelite Standard lightweight blocks are extremely versatile and can be used in standard wall applications above and below ground including beam and block flooring. They provide a strong background making them ideal to receive plaster finishes and are particularly suited for use where a rendered outer leaf is proposed. They also provide a secure base for fixings.
Why Hemelite Standard?
Hemelite Standard achieves good levels of strength, fire resistance and sound insulation and can be combined with cavity insulation to achieve virtually any desired level of thermal performance.
Hemelite Standard working dimensions
Face dimensions (mm) are 440mm long x (various widths) x 215mm high.
Block widths include: 75mm, 90mm, 100mm, 140mm, 150mm, 190+mm and 215+mm.
Topcrete Standard Aggregate Blocks
Topcrete Standard dense blocks are extremely robust and durable and can be used in most standard wall applications above and below ground including beam and block flooring. They are available in a range of compressive strengths making them particularly suitable for high strength loadbearing walls. They can also provide high levels of fire resistance and sound insulation.
In addition the strong background they provide makes them ideal to receive plaster finishes and are particularly suited for use where a rendered outer leaf is proposed. They also provide a secure base for fixings.

Face dimensions (mm) are 440mm long x (various widths) x 215mm high.

Toplite Standard Aggregate Blocks
General Purpose Walling
Toplite Standard can be used for all general-purpose walling applications including inner leaves, solid walls, internal partitions and walls below DPC
Separating Walls
Toplite Standard is recommended for use in separating walls including those comforming to Robust Details E-WM-6, E-WM-15, E-WM-23 and E-WM-24 as well as other key applications such as rendered outer leaf of cavity walls.
Loadbearing Walls
All Toplite products are produced to Category 1 manufacturing control as defined in BS 5628-1. This can provide an equivalent wall strength to that of conventional 10.4N/mm2 blocks produced to less rigorous category of manufacturing control.
Fire
Toplite blocks provide excellent periods of fire resistance which can satisfy building regulations and other imposed requirements e.g. those by insurers. All Toplite products conform to a fire rating of Class A1 to BS EN 13501-1: 2002.
Sound Insulation
Toplite blocks may be used to provide acoustic insulation between internal rooms to meet the requirements of Part E regulations for houses and flats.
